Hi, I am Shamse. I am currently a Ph.D. Student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan, working under the supervision of Dr. Banani Roy, in the Interactive Software Engineering and Analytics Lab.

My research sits at the intersection of software engineering and human-AI collaboration. As autonomous agents evolve from simple tools into active teammates, my research investigates how this shift impacts developer workflows and community dynamics. Currently, my work focuses on role-calibrated human-agent teaming. I empirically study how interactions with AI agents differ across the social hierarchy of software projects. By analyzing the behaviors of both core and peripheral developers, I aim to design more adaptive, role-aware AI systems that foster trust, reduce friction, and improve code quality in open-source and enterprise environments.

Feel free to reach out to me for any collaborations, suggestions, or questions. You can contact me at shamse.cynthia [at] usask [dot] ca!
